How to Track No-Answer Doors

May 19, 2026 · 4 min read

No-answer doors are not dead leads. Here's how to track and re-knock them so they actually convert.

Roughly half of door knocks are no-answers. Treat them as a queue, not a dead end.

Tag them on the first pass

Drop a gray pin at every no-answer with a note about time of day. That's it — keep moving.

Retry at a different time

  • Morning knock no-answer → try a weekday evening
  • Weekday-evening no-answer → try Saturday late morning
  • Two no-answers → drop a door hanger and schedule one more retry
  • Three no-answers → archive or hand to the next canvas

Let the app remember for you

In Territoryly, set a follow-up on the no-answer lead. It surfaces on your Today list at the right time. No spreadsheet, no sticky note.
